Farm Information

In 2021, Riveredge Nature Center partnered with the Savanna Institute to design and plant silvopasture to improve water quality in the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan. Planting trees on farms and along riverbanks and shorelines can reduce nutrient pollution in local lakes, rivers, and streams. The Water Quality Program establishes demonstration farms around the Great Lakes, and shares research and education on the potential for agroforestry systems to meet the challenge of the water crisis.
