Our Staff

Kathleen joined Savanna Institute as a Tree Crop Breeder in 2023. She earned her PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Biotechnology from Michigan State University focusing on tart cherry genomics and breeding.

She grew up on a dairy goat farm in Upstate NY and fell in love with plant breeding as an undergraduate at Cornell University working for the Small Grains breeding project.

When she is not thinking about plants she may be found keeping bees or playing roller derby.
